A Love Note to Stitch Fix
I have enjoyed Stitch Fix from the moment I first signed up to have my very own personal stylist, but lately I have grown to fall in love with what Stitch Fix does and who they are as a company. I am in a few Stitch Fix themed groups on social media and I have been so impressed by what I see other customers share about the company.
Recently, I saw a post where a lady received a personalized gift with a hand written note from Stitch Fix after a traumatic life event. I also read where Stitch Fix customer service went above and beyond to meet the needs of another client when they didn’t have a specialty size for an item the woman loved. I am proud to recommend Stitch Fix to my readers each month when I write my Stitch Fix reviews because I know this is a company that will exceed your expectations. Now, onto the pretties my personal stylist sent this month for my Stitch Fix June 2017 box!
Stitch Fix June 2017 | Stitch Fix Reviews #4
This post is NOT sponsored by Stitch Fix, but it does contain my affiliate links. If you choose to make a purchase using the links I’ve provided then my blog receives a small commission at no additional cost to you. Thank you for supporting my blog and my monthly Stitch Fix reviews!
I worked with a new photographer for a few of the images for this blog post and I’m so excited to share the result of our collaboration together! You’ll definitely be seeing more of her work here in the future. If you are ever near Chattanooga, TN you must book a session with Brandi Gann of Beauty and The Beard Productions. Check out her Facebook page here to book your own portrait session or just sneak a peek at the fantastical awesomeness this amazing lady dreams up in her spare time.
Just to be clear so that there’s no confusion, I took individual product pictures for each item, like always, and my Mama helped me snap pics- what are Mamas for, after all? 😉 -of the two items I had to put in the mail asap. Read on to hear my overall Stitch Fix reviews for each item, outfit inspiration, Stitch Fix prices and why I didn’t need a Stitch Fix promo code to get a $66.50 discount on my Stitch Fix June 2017 box! I’ll even tell you how you can get your next Fix for free!
Warning: Super photo heavy post ahead!! 😉
Kut From The Kloth Dina Cold Shoulder Crochet Detail Knit Dress
Do you love it?! Me, too! When I saw the images of which items I had received in my Stitch Fix June 2017 box this month I’m pretty sure my heart skipped a beat! I have been fantasizing about cold shoulder blouses and I secretly had my fingers crossed I’d be getting one in my Fix this month. I love the cold shoulder on the Kut From The Kloth Dina Dress, but what makes this dress extra special is the crochet detail on the sleeves.
What you can’t possibly see in the pictures is how impossibly soft this dress is. It feels like wearing your pajamas, but looks like you spent all day dressing up. This could be the most comfortable little black dress in the history of ever, y’all. It would pair beautifully with a pair of heels like these. As an added bonus, the halter top straps hold the top of the dress in place. All things considered, I think this little black dress is the perfect choice for mamas who want to look effortlessly beautiful.
Don’t think I’m crazy for what I’m about to say, but once I tried this dress on it felt like it fit too big. I wanted to love it, but I knew it wouldn’t get enough use to belong in my Minimalist wardrobe. I decided to keep it so that I could get the Stitch Fix discount. More on that in a bit…
Verdict: Kept and sold.
Collective Concepts Carter Embroidered One Shoulder Top
This piece goes hand in hand with the cold shoulder dress. My first thought when I tried on the Collective Concepts one shoulder top was how great it would look with a pair of jeans like these. So that’s just what I did! Doesn’t the look just scream to be worn on a girl’s night out?? You can’t forget the red matte lipstick.
I received these Kut From The Kloth jeans in my first Stitch Fix. I love them and still wear them at least twice a week!
This top would also look great worn to backyard barbecue parties this summer or for a 4th of July family night.
If you look closely you can see that this isn’t just a simple solid black top. It’s embroidered with a floral pattern. I love special little touches like this. These kinds of details are what make a capsule wardrobe essential, like a black blouse, stand out when it’s worn in rotation time and time again. Also- I can’t move onto the next item without telling you how perfect this fabric is for hot summer days. It’s thin, but not sheer making it breathable and comfortable.
I loved this blouse the moment I laid eyes on it! It reminds me of a dress I owned when my husband and I were still only dating. What kept me from keeping it was that it also fit a little loose. I probably could’ve had the strap taken up and that would’ve fixed any sizing issue, but I had my heart set on keeping all 3 of the remaining pieces left in my Stitch Fix June 2017 box and my wallet was scared! hahah!
Verdict: Kept and sold.
Skies Are Blue Mickie Embroidery Detail Top
I have to say, this piece had me on the fence until the last moment. As stunning as this Skies Are Blue blouse is, it isn’t something I would consider for myself. It’s bold and I tend to favor more classic wardrobe pieces. I’m not sure why that is. But, see, that’s why I love Stitch Fix, y’all! Stitch Fix challenges me to try new things and I get to pair the pieces with anything I already own in my closet and see how it looks. That’s why I love that Stitch Fix is delivered straight to my front porch. No having to return all the way back to the store if something doesn’t work the way I’d want it to. Stitch Fix will even do exchanges if you need a different size!
Once I had this beauty in my hands, the linen fabric pulled my heart straight over the edge. In summer, I’m a sucker for linens. It gets sooo humid here in the southern United States. The navy color and the floral cut-out hemline of this top had my heart from the get-go. After trying the shirt on a few times with different items I already own the hot pink color of the embroidery slowly won me over.
I’m in looove with this piece now! It may be my new favorite. This Skies Are Blue blouse would look stunning paired under a blazer with skinny leg trousers for work or church, and for a more casual look you could simply pair it with distressed denim and cuff the sleeves of the blazer. Easy peasy. Y’all know my Minimalist heart doesn’t like things to be too fussy! 😉
Isn’t that embroidery stunning?!
Kaileigh Aldama Scoop Neck Blouse
Y’all. Oooh, y’all! There are not even any words for this piece! This top is 100% my style in a nutshell! I love the color black (could you tell?? LOL), I adore polka dots and the fit of this blouse is flowy and comfortable. Love that!
I especially love how well this piece pairs with the color red- my other favorite color. I love using red for the accessories in my closet. This top was the perfect excuse for me to add a bright red pair of shorts into my Minimalist wardrobe mix for a pop of color. My Stitch Fix personal stylist paired this top with a bright red skirt on the style cards she made as inspiration. I would love to have one of those next!
Sticking to a general color scheme is an important part of creating a capsule wardrobe, if you’re into creating that kinda thing. You can read more on how to create a capsule wardrobe for mamas here. One of the big wins when you use a capsule wardrobe is that adding one new item- like my red shorts- can create several new outfits because it can be worn with just about every other piece I own.
Oh, hush. Y’all know I definitely kept this one!
Alice Blue Taylie Tie Neck Blouse
Before I go any farther let me just press pause and say- yes!- the colors and the details of this blouse are everything they appear to be in this picture. This shirt is fabulous!!
I have been on the hunt for a Peter Pan collar shirt and my personal stylist has been trying to find one I will love. This isn’t a Peter Pan collar shirt, but it does have an adorable little collar that adds an extra sweet detail to this top.
I have really been enjoying floral prints lately and my personal stylist took notice since I had been adding a lot of florals to my Pinterest board. Honestly, I’m pretty sure I pinned this exact top. My stylist is goood, y’all. 🙂
I like this blouse worn with shorts, but I would really like to find an electric blue skirt, or a pair of dress pants to go with this for less casual events.

Stitch Fix Prices | Do I need a Stitch Fix promo code to get a discount?
I’ve had several of you mention that you believe Stitch Fix may be outside of your budget. I want to share a few tips today that can help you get the best Fix for your budget.
Starting when you fill out your Style Profile for Stitch Fix, you’ll be able to set the price range which best fits your budget. There are 5 price range options ranging from “The cheaper the better” all the way up to $200+ per item.
Set your price, schedule your first Fix then be sure to follow up by filling out the feedback on each item after you receive your Fix. If there were any items in your Fix that you felt were too expensive then you should indicate that by clicking the option “too high” on the feedback questionnaire Stitch Fix provides at checkout. Stitch Fix will then use this information to provide you with better options to meet your needs in your next Fix! The best part about this is that it can be changed at any time. Think of times like Christmas or when you get that big bonus at work and are ready to splurge on a new wardrobe staple like a little black dress.
Total Cost of my 5th Stitch Fix
The total price of this Fix before the 25% discount you receive when you buy all 5 items was $266. After the 25% discount, the total cost was only $199.50. That’s a savings of $66.50! I kept two pieces from this Fix, rather than return them to Stitch Fix, just so that I could qualify for that incredible discount! After I sold and shipped the two pieces (yes- my buyer got the discounted price, too!), I still saved $35 on my 3 blouses. Here’s a Stitch Fix insider tip, in case you haven’t tried Stitch Fix yet. For every friend you refer who schedules their own Fix you will get a $25 credit added to your account! If you share your love of Stitch Fix with enough friends, you could earn enough referral credits to score some free fashion! 😉
Have you tried Stitch Fix yet? If you haven’t, you should give it a go! Better yet- has your man tried Stitch Fix yet? Father’s Day is less than 2 weeks away and Stitch Fix would be an incredible Father’s Day present for the man who already has everything else!
If you need pointers for how to get your best Fix from your stylist, check back in a few days when I’ll update this post with the link for you to read my detailed Stitch Fix how-to blog post that will walk you through the steps to getting your best Fix!
If you were to create a capsule wardrobe, which colors would be found most often in your closet? I’d love to hear your answer in the comments below!
