Warm weather is quickly approaching and summer is right around the corner. With that in mind, we are working on decluttering outside and a big part of this means reducing the kids outdoor toys.

During my time of intense decluttering, I paid careful consideration to the things I was allowing to come into our home to live with us. I even created a Minimalism game just for mamas! Check it out. Somehow though, this massive undertaking inside resulted in turning a blind eye to our outdoor toys. Our outdoor toys piled up one by one until our small plastic tote that holds them all was overflowing.
I’m hoping time is my friend and my children will lose interest in most of our outdoor toys. Then I will be tweezing out the unloved toys one by one until our collection is manageable once again. When we’re outside, I’d much rather the kiddos be playing with sticks, rocks and pine needles exploring nature and exercising their imaginations.

OUR CURRENT OUTDOOR TOY COLLECTION INCLUDES
The small items listed are stored in one of these we use as our outdoor toy box. We have:
- Ride-in JEEP
- Toy 4-wheeler
- Toy yard tools– several shovels, a rake, and a hoe.
- Sidewalk chalk (my favorite)
- Large dump truck and Loader vehicle
- Small dump truck
- Two bicycles
- Swing (I would like to have one more of these because the whole “take turns” thing sucks sometimes.)
- Small plastic kiddie pool (the kiddos’ favorite by far!)
**UPDATE- We have moved a lot of these toys to the grandparents houses. The ride-in JEEP and two bicycles moved to our family’s farm. The large dump truck and loader vehicle moved to my in-laws because she wanted a few outdoor toys for when the kids stop by so why not pass them on to where they’ll get played with more often? I like the number of outdoor toys we currently have at home and so do the babes. They haven’t even missed the items we’ve re-homed so far.
