Have you heard of the Minimalist movement that’s been gaining momentum lately? If you haven’t, it’s basically a movement of individuals, couples and families who make the conscious choice to live simpler, more intentional lives which focus on things that are more important than just “stuff.” Step one to most people’s Minimalist journey is decluttering their homes. The big question in the mind of most parents though is, “Is Minimalism even possible with kids?”
I’m here to tell you, first off, heck yes it is!
Not only is it possible with kids, but it is essential. Parents and children alike benefit from the simplicity of a more Minimalist lifestyle. Since my family has taken the path to Minimalism we have noticed a huge- let me say that again- HUGE decrease in our stress levels. Even our toddlers don’t throw quite so many tantrums. We have more focused time together as a family, and we can truly say that our priorities have shifted for the better.
Do you want to be a Minimalist, too, but you’re questioning how do I even start to be a Minimalist with kids???
First things first, you should probably take a look at this post and decide what type of Minimalist are you anyway??
